As a business, Borough has been involved with producing parts for many iconic cars over our more than 50 years of production, but seeing the BMW Mini top the supermini category in the Sunday Times’ Top 100 Cars 2014 list still makes us happy.

After so many competitors have tried to steal the crown of this modern ‘British’ classic, it’s great to see it so highly praised: “…the Mini range is in a different league from its rivals and the car must now stand as the most desirable small hatchback of its time”.

Unfortunately, the work of any individual firm contributing parts to the overall package is not recognised, clearly an oversight, but much is made of the high quality work by all the component and assembly manufacturers that cars this good, need to succeed – read it for yourself here.

It was equally gratifying to see so many ‘British’ marques filling the top spots in the Executive & Prestige category, with Land Rover, Jaguar, Rolls-Royce, Aston Martin and Bentley all brands we know well.

The quality of our moulding and chrome-plating speaks for itself. But when you work as hard as we do to ensure few, if any, of our competitors can match our abilities with chrome, seeing all those photos featuring chrome so prominently, it makes some of the pain and sleepless nights worth it; but only some.

Keen to spread the word about just how good we are at moulding and chrome plating parts for the automotive industry, we’re exhibiting at the Automotive Engineering Show 2014, 11-12 November at the NEC.

This show is part of the wider Advanced Engineering UK 2014 event, but we’re concentrating our efforts on automotive, despite the work we do with white goods, packaging and consumer goods manufacturers.

We’re on stand K90 and would welcome the chance to explain what we have to offer to anyone who’ll listen; but more specifically, anyone in the automotive supply chain, designers, buyers or specifiers, looking for high quality ABS moulding and chrome-plating.
