UK based Borough Limited, one of Europe’s leading suppliers of chrome plated plastic mouldings, has been awarded the top accolade in the quality category of the highly acclaimed Surface Engineering Association (SEA) Awards 2006.
Award entries were judged on the company’s successful approach to achieving excellence in quality of either product, finish or surface.

Borough provided a strong entry detailing the significant steps it has taken to ensure high quality products and service. Over the years, it has successfully strived to achieve and maintain benchmark industrial quality standard awards that are recognised globally. These awards progress from achieving BS5750 in 1987 through ISO9002 and QS9000 to the latest level of TS16949 and ISO14001 within the last year.
In the last two years Borough has invested approximately £110K in machinery and equipment. This equipment and the employment of a dedicated quality manager has led to its achievement of the latest certificates that are recognised and highly regarded by the automotive industry and more importantly Borough’s key customers.
The SEA Awards were presented at the gala presentation evening at The National Motorcycle Museum in Birmingham on Friday 20 October 2006. There to accept the award was David Coombes, Borough’s managing director. David said: “We are delighted to accept this award in recognition of our commitment to providing top quality products and service to our customers.
“Having put a great deal of effort into raising the standard of our quality control, we have now put into place a long-term quality monitoring and development programme.
“We provide our customers with a full consultancy package including over 40 years’ worth of honest and experienced advice in creating a premium product, and continually striving to achieve ‘Best in Class’ quality at every step.”
