Injection Moulding

Borough has invested in top quality moulding machines from Negro Bossi, Metalmeccanica and Sandretto with presses ranging from 35 tonne to 240 tonnes.

To minimise problems we often project manage the design of tools with tool manufacturers, taking the product through all the stages of design, through to PPAP and into final production. It is this attention to detail that sets Borough apart from its competitors.

The quality of the finished product is dependent upon the condition of the virgin moulding, which is why Borough places a great emphasis on the investment and training of staff in the moulding division. This has been paramount since gaining 1st tier supply status and QS 9000, which places the product under ever closer scrutiny over its quality, fit and function.

The best approach for injection moulding components specifically for electroplating is for the designer, tool maker and electroplater to liaise right from the conception of the product. It is also useful, for designers to have a basic guide to help them understand the special design requirements of components moulded for plating. An understanding of these requirements will enable them to avoid errors that would subsequently have an adverse effect on the plating quality achieved.
